The resources will help us to make better use of the laptops we have in our classroom. Our technology is used to access all of our major math and ELA curriculum materials online. As students transition from elementary to middle school, being able to listen to content and take notes or make sense of what they are learning is an important skill that students will continue to utilize throughout the rest of their educational careers. ELA.SL.5.2 also asks students to be able to summarize a text that is read aloud to them and the headphones will allow students to access more audio-based texts and practice this skill. In addition to math and reading support, these resources will help students utilize our classroom technology to create products of learning. This helps students to be career and college-ready in our 21st-century world.
