Many students are struggling to stay focused in school after coming back to in-person learning. Our goal, as the behavior intervention team, is to create a toolkit for students to use in a calm space in every classroom. These toolkits will be used school wide and create continuity and cohesion among classrooms. These tools will help students maintain their functioning throughout the school day and increase their stamina. They will help keep students engaged in the classroom and to promote self-regulation when their bodies are not ready to learn. The toolkits will include fidgets such as wacky tracks and roller chains as well as noise cancelling headsets.
