My third graders, like so many other students, have been out of the classroom for 18 months and the result is students who like to move. Imagine a classroom set up for comfort, collaboration, learning, and productivity. Flexible seating can make that a reality in my classroom. Students will be more engaged and feel empowered by having a choice of seating. Wobble stools, bouncy bands, and ball seats will give diverse seating options for students who like to move. I pride myself in building relationships with my students and being aware of their social emotional health. I do not expect kids to be still for 7 hours a day, even adults would have difficulty with that task. The goal is to enhance the educational experience for each student. Calming strips and disc Frisbees will allow students the opportunity to manage their own emotions. Thank you for supporting my students’ learning by fostering their internal instinct to move!
