This storage cabinet will fulfill COVID-related learning through socio-emotional well being as students engage and interact with peers. We already have in place 3 teaching gardens on our campus, without an area to organize our tools and materials to be more efficient when we are outside. Students will help each other with planting, maintaining and harvesting our produce. Having a storage cabinet to house our tools and other garden needs will make our learning more meaningful and clean. All grade levels will be utilizing the garden space. Each teacher has access to developmental garden lessons that correlate to our NGSS Next Generation science standards, and connect to our units of inquiry that we create for our students. By using this space and organizing our tools, our students will be able to connect with each other in more meaningful ways while learning about good nutrition, while developing communication skills and friendships that are so desperately needed.
