Using the magnetic stir plate will allow them to safely investigate scientific principles without fear of being injured by stirring a hot sample. I want my rural students to have access to state of art scientific equipment as their counterparts in fully resourced communities. I believe these supplies will occassion curiosty in my students and allow them to see science based post secondary opportunities, whether that is in a skilled trade or a universtiy or college based program. I believe strongly in providing this type of hands on learning can even the playing field for my historically underestimated students.
