I am requesting books. My students are at a disadvantage when it comes to books. At our school, we do not have a library. They do not have access to books. As an English teacher, I am trying to incorporate more free reading time in my lessons. I want to build a classroom library to encourage student participation and overall well-being. I want students to enjoy reading and start to understand the importance of exploring new books. This could help build their social and emotional skills. It will not only help them academically but also personally. In these trying times, it could help students escape their reality and create their own. Books are an extremely important outlet that students need to take advantage of. Some students don't know the impact reading can have on them.
