Big books help build strong literacy skills. They allow students to engage fully with books. The print is large. The pictures are easy to see. All students can see the words and read along with me and engage with the story. I am able to model reading strategies and my students love being able to join in as we read together. Big books are exciting. They encourage a love of reading and writing. Having this book book easel will allow me to more easily share high-quality big books with my students. On the carpet, big book shared reading allows me to bring the at-home experience of having a parent or loved on read to a child to life for all students in our classroom. Big books make better readers!
