This will be all-encompassing - learning at school and at home. I can use the comprehension cards in small groups to monitor their reading comprehension. I can then send home similar reading-level passages with each student to supplement what I have taught them in class. Hopefully, between the two, their reading fluency and comprehension will improve. I like to have a 15 minute warm-up in small groups where the students can practice their sight words and have me model fluent reading. Then, within the small group, I can monitor each student's reading.
