The English class library will be used for independent reading in the classroom and at home. Students will be able to practice the skills and strategies learned in class while reading their independent reading books. Becoming an avid reader will help students grow academically by learning new vocabulary, comprehension, and reading stamina. Students will also practice their writing and speaking skill thorough in class projects and writing assignments based on their independent reading books. Some books may also be used for reading circles. Students will recommend and discuss books with one another in an academic setting.
