With these donor funded books, I plan to create a display in our school library to highlight these new, high interest books. My plan is to select visually appealing books with lots of pictures, that will grab the attention of a child that normally doesn't check out books. We get so many requests from students for football books for example, and when I bring them an outdated NFL team book from the 80's, I watch their expression change from excitement to disappointment. With these new and updated books, I plan to see more smiles and more checking out of books, particularly by those kids who feel they "can't read" chapter books.
