These materials will nurture an interest and hopefully love for writing, extending their reach and challenging themselves to rise beyond the limits they are facing. My goal is for my students to be inspired by literature to write, draw, and express themselves. Although we are a city school, or funding is limited. The books we were given for class library are irrelevant to them. Only through reading great literature can they become great writers. The books I am asking for are great examples of relevant Black American and ethnic experiences. Please help these students make the most out of their education. Thank you much.
