I will be collaborating with our school music teacher to create and make use of flexible learning spaces in both classrooms. In my classroom, I will be adding more seating options for student use. In the music room, the instrument stands would be used to make changing the learning space possible. The biggest barred instruments are just too big for students to move and currently cannot be moved in order to accommodate the students' creativity needs in music class. Humans are physical creatures and even more so when they are young. The project would buy supplies that would make it possible for our students to exercise their social-emotional needs. They would have opportunities to explore their emotions about their learning and make choices that will help them be better learners. Their bodies would be more comfortable and their minds more open to learning. SEL: -Understand and manage emotions -Set and achieve positive goals -Make responsible decisions across diverse cultural contexts Music: MU:Pr6.2.1 Perform music for a specific purpose with expression and technical accuracy through singing, performing and/or moving.
