Teaching first grade in a COVID world has it's challenges. My classroom is the first in-person learning environment for the majority of my class. Many students did virtual kindergarten or missed it completely. I want my students to come into my classroom each day and learn in a fun and hands-on way. I want them to become life long learners and I want to plant the seed of loving education now. It is my honor and privilege to guide them on this journey. I want them to always remember their first grade year. I will utilize the requested materials in small and whole group settings. I will use them to reinforce subjects taught in class. My students are struggling with concepts that are generally learned in kindergarten because a majority of them learned virtually. I will use the small group games to help strengthen their conventions/grammar skills as well as their addition and subtraction skills. L.1.(1-2) Conventions/grammars when writing/speaking; use capitalization/punctuation/spelling 1.OA.A: Represent and solve problems involving addition and subtraction.
