Coming back from COVID-19 was tough for my students but they have all shown me that they are capable, strong, and determined. I teach high school Physics which is a very tough subject and not easily liked. Despite this, my students have always done their best to succeed in the course. As their teacher, I try my best to give them many hands-on activities and labs but due to our lack of resources, we are limited to using whiteboards as ramps and various sports balls as our moving objects. The goal of this project is to make Physics more accessible to all students in our school. My students come from different backgrounds culturally and economically. They all have had different experiences and they are all at different levels of learning. From the conversations I've had this school year, a lot of my students don't see themselves going to higher education or even that they deserve a better education. I want to show them that they can and that they do deserve it. All of my students deserve more than what we have right now and they deserve experiences in the classroom that they will remember as time passes. This project will provide my students with supplies and resources for hands-on lab activities as well as art supplies for projects.
