These additions to my classroom library will allow me to provide a diverse experience in which students are exposed to current topics. They will see characters like them, and they will have more choice in picking what they want to read, which is proven to improve reading comprehension. I plan to use these books to get our school student run book club going, and we need a variety of books featuring diverse characters for students to read about. This project will help boost an interest in reading in my school.
