I have been running a gamers' club on my campus for nine years. We meet weekly and the students love it. Our club provides a place for students to come together who might not fit into other school groups (sports, cheerleading, student council, etc.) They meet other students with like interests, and have a load of fun. As part of the fun, they can also expand their social skills, learn lessons about sportsmanship and sharing, and find outlets for their individual interests. My gamers' club students need a little love. My video game-loving members have been making-do with an old console that I donated years ago. This year we had over 150 students sign up for gamers' club. I have been trying to get funding to buy them some more current equipment, and I am hoping that with this DonorsChoose project I can get them the updated equipment that they deserve.
