I believe when a student walks into a classroom they can immerse themselves into whatever they are learning just by the environment they are surrounded in. Nice rugs, clean air, warm lighting, comfortable seating, colorful slogans and posters can create a safe, fun learning environment for students. Being comfortable with a teacher and even a teachers room can help bring out the best in a students ability. A lot of students are coming off a year where mental trauma was rampant. An environment that is relaxing and peaceful can help a child focus and forget about what all the negative trauma in their lives and hopefully feel safe and relaxed enough to allow themselves the ability to focus and learn.
