In the academic enrichment reading class, students need engaging novels to practice their essential comprehension skills. Response to reading is also a strategy used in classroom discussions. Getting these books into the hands of students will help increase their connection to the stories and each other. These novels will allow me to deepen their understanding while targeting gaps in their learning due to the Covid pandemic. We will use these books for independent leveled learning, class discussions, and group projects. All three of these titles also allow students to make connections to the social-emotional learning they are participating in throughout the school day.
