My students love to read regardless of their ability levels. Their love of books and literacy is fostered by high interest leveled books. Each student has their own box of books they can choose to read from during silent sustained reading time. They have a varitey of books in their box of books. We use leveled readers during small group reading instruction to build and practice literacy skills at their specific area of need. We use grade level books for whole class instruction to learn grade level skills and concepts. The selection of books chosen for this project will be used for all the purposes mentioned and will provide each student the oppotunity to achieve success through growth no matter what skill level they are working on. Some of these books can be taken home to use to practice skills we have learned in class.
