The donations to this project will allow my students a choice in work area flexibility, opportunities to move, the ability to work collaboratively, and of course, comfort. I believe that giving my students a choice in where they work leads to more productive and engaged minds. The bar height tables will allow my students the choice to work standing or sitting and give them the flexibility to move! This is an added benefit for all students, especially those with special needs who need the ability to move during class. The tables will also allow students an opportunity to participate in collaborative group work and engage with math manipulatives. Trying to work in groups while sitting at the traditional one-piece desks is cumbersome. The desks don't "group" together in a way that allows students to have a joined work area. An added benefit to the bar height tables is that they are easily moveable and can create group work areas. They are also one smooth surface that will allow students to work with hands-on manipulatives and collaborative group work. After being at home due to COVID, please help me offer my students a more comfortable alternative to traditional seating that will benefit their minds and bodies!
