SL.K.1a Follow agreed-upon rules for discussions (e.g., listening to others and taking turns speaking about the topics and texts under discussion). Flexible seating will help my students be able to work on their speaking and listening skills. They can wiggle while others are talking and wait their turn. This is a hard task for kindergartens. This often times can't sit still long enough to get through a lesson because they need to move. When providing them a way to sit and wiggle at the same time they will be able to learn speaking and listening skills when having discussions in class. The other items in my cart will help us be able to complete tasks that are needed for kindergarten. Things such as lamination sheets will help us with centers, the pencil sharpener will help us complete all written work, timers help kids know how much time they have left to work. All these items will help motivate and keep kindergarteners on task and motivated.
