I would like to use these books to provide character education lessons in our Pre-K - 5th grade classrooms. I'd like to prevent bullying, discrimination and promote acceptance and empathy by using quality, engaging stories and complementary activities. I've carefully selected stories that represent characters of all ethnicities, cultures, religions and abilities. The themes of the selected stories center around resiliency, growth mindset, inclusion and mental health. Representation matters and our student body should see characters in books that resemble themselves. The bean bag chairs and flexible seating options are integral to the inclusion of students with unique needs. All students deserve to feel safe and comfortable in my room.
