Many of my students struggle with reading comprehension, and therefore are very much discouraged to read. I often hear students say "I don't read." or "It's too hard to read." Once introducing graphic novels to them such as the those of Anime, DC Comics, and Marvel Comics, I've noticed more students were more willing to read. Bringing in more graphic novels, especially those that are based off of actual historical events, will help my students to visualize and understand the significance in what I'm trying to teach them in class.
