I am requesting high-interest books for our classroom library where my students can start becoming lifelong readers. This project will directly impact my class by growing our class library. My students are reading more than ever before because of the variety of books in my class. Help me keep that trend going by providing books that they will love. The more students read, the more they grow their reading skills and a love of reading. I know the reason for this has so much to do with our class library. Students use our books during silent reading, as well as for book clubs. They are empowered to choose what they will read next and who they’ll get to read it with. Then during class, we use our books to analyze books to grow our ideas and thinking about reading. Keep in mind, we are a Title I school, where at least 40% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch, and therefore cannot always afford to have a library at home. These books will allow my students the opportunity to continue to grow their love of reading, even when they leave our school doors. Any help making this project come to life would be greatly appreciate. Books are my most valuable resource.
