Our program supports students who experience a variety of challenges that can impact their ability to thrive academically. We provide a calming space for students to recenter themselves and process their lives outside and inside of school. Our students work to build skills to address the mental health, social emotional, and/or environmental challenges they experience in order to work towards their academic goals and build the life they want to lead! The items listed will help our small community room come together as a family feeling, soothing space. We have a variety of materials listed mostly falling into 4 categories: Resin Crafting, Lighting, Games/Puzzles and Snacks. The plan is to make beach rock coasters and keychains out of epoxy resin to support relationship building between students and invite our students into conversation. The cozy lighting is to warm up our space on dark and dreary winter days! Games and puzzles are a huge hit with students and allow them to focus on something concrete while processing emotional situations aloud. Our students especially love the animal shaped puzzles, and specifically requested more of them! Our students also requested the snacks listed here, for when they wake up late for breakfast, are having a tougher day, or need an extra pick-me-up in the afternoon.
