The students in my class need to focus on basic fluency, comprehension and mathematical skills to help them be successful this year. Due to the pandemic, my students are struggling with reading comprehension, even though their favorite past time is reading. My hope is to help build their comprehension skills (RL4.1-3 and RI4.1-3) with small group and center resources. I also want to encourage their love of reading by giving them many grade level (RL4.10 and RI4.10) appropriate books in the classroom library. My students are also struggling with simple multiplication facts. This will greatly hinder them as we move on to learning multi-digit multiplication and division. (4.OA.4 and 4.NBT.5-6).
