Gardening is a fantastic way to have my students learn about responsibility, math, and science. Students will have the opportunity to learn about what it takes to create a butterfly garden using plants that are native to Texas. By teaching students about Native plants, we are teaching them about sustainability, water conservation, and accountable life choices. With the supplies that I am asking for, I will create a club for 6th - 8th grade. Students will use gardening tools, watering buckets, tape measures, plants that are native to Texas and create an ecosystem in which to attract butterflies. Butterflies are essential to our ecosystem. The materials that I am requesting will help us grow our garden. The students and I are eager and ready to get planting!
