This year my students need to engage in more hands-on learning to keep them focused and to help them meet the standard being taught. Their active participation through games or hands-on tasks allows them to be the ones guiding their learning experience. Lecturing students the information they need to learn does not help all of them to learn. They need full hands-on activities that are interesting and not boring to keep them excited and allow all students to get involved rather than just a few. Making learning fun helps students who struggle with concepts feel more confident in trying to do the concepts. The educational games will allow them to become leaders in their own learning. Students get the opportunity to teach their own peers through learning games and task cards. The reading comprehension and fluency items are a must for students who have missed out on these skills due to Covid and being away from a structured school setting. They offer a variety of levels for my lower students to build their skills and to strengthen and refine the skills of my higher students. We have intervention time in the classroom and I can use the items I chose to work with students in small groups, while other groups can learn on their own with other materials. These items will also help me set up stations for students to work independently. The partitions will allow students to keep their focus on what they are working on instead of getting distracted by those around them. They also give my students privacy to feel confident in their own work rather than feeling judged or hurried by others around
