My scholars have been through a great deal already since the start of the school year. The effects of staffing shortages have impacted my students. I am their 5th teacher just this year. We've learned to slow down and give ourselves grace, as we experience the many changes. We are understanding what it means to be back at school and learn for 8 hours a day, Monday-Friday. It is not okay that my scholars have limited access to eating, drinking water, and learning materials everyday. We have a designated snack time, but more than half my kids do not bring snacks from home. Our water fountain spouts are covered due to Covid-19 protocols, and scholars can only get water with a water bottle, but more than half my kids do not have one. Our school does not have access to color printing for engaging learning materials our scholars need during this time. With your support, our scholars can gain access to these basic needs at school!
