I am a first year teacher who has stepped into a kindergarten classroom after 4 weeks of instruction by a long term substitute. The kindergarten students are enthusiastic to learn, but my classroom is lacking varying activities to stimulate their minds. It is up to me to create the active learning environment that these young minds need. The classroom needs materials to engage the students, and stimulate an active learning environment. Multiple Nevada Academic Content Standards will be met, however, an academic standard particularly relating to this project is K.CC.4 Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
