During one of my periods I have 22 level 1 EL students who are in fifth grade at a beginning reader level. During this class we work through a program called System 44. This program allows for me to track each ones progress and will record them reading words or sentences depending on their level. Our biggest struggle is having enough headsets that work, and then having ones with microphones for them to record themselves reading. These kiddos weren’t given the best start in life, and still have daily struggles outside of the school. My goal is for them to have everything they could need at school to create one less worry for them.
