Our school is in the deep south rural countryside far away from any city, so building a modern class library to help kids love books and experience the world through reading is my main goal this year. We have a tiny library and none of our books are new. We do not have a class set of anything. The books I chose are books that will inspire and interest my students with the issues and important issues they deal with today, as well as enjoy shiny new books they can't wait to devour! These items get kids excited about learning and to have fun doing it! Also, we have had a zero budget for our science class. I chose fun learning activities that I know will turn these young scholars into future scientists. My selection of arts and crafts will provide much needed creativity in the classroom for ELA illustrations, posters, science projects, and history maps. We currently have one set of colored pencils to share.
