In our district, our high school students have Chromebooks and our lessons are pushed through Google classroom. Our ELA class is currently focused on annotating and analyzing various pieces of literature. We have multiple discussion types and actively use technology to submit answers and engage with other students. The students work from Google Classroom daily and our current Promethean board is outdated, and the projector is steadily declining. We also do not know if the panel will work after my classroom sustained damages from Hurricane Ida. With our current damages from Hurricane Ida, purchasing a new ACTIVPanel is not feasible for my classroom. Our district created an annotation guide to match our curriculum, and an ACTIVpanel has been an essential tool for our daily instruction. Students are able to come to the board and mark the text. We can share our answers on programs such as Jamboard in a live setting so that students can see their peers' answers and we can discuss and expand upon their ideas. The Promethean board in my room is a tool that is used daily basis, and my students enjoy the various apps we use to enrich the lessons and share answers.
