These materials will help students with phonemic awareness because they can begin letter recognition and sight word recognition, even if not reading the whole book. In addition, these books have lots of pictures for students to connect too. So they are beginning to read! Another aspect of these books is that they help to teach lessons in developmentally appropriate ways. The books in the cart are geared towards students in K-2, so they will use descriptive words and vocabulary that is common for these ages. These books can help to explain emotions, relationships, social interactions, and so on!
