As a STEAM teacher, it is my goal to equip my students with the 21st century technology tools and skills that they need (especially as we work towards mastering skills that are relevant specifically to STEM careers). In order to do this with the necessary level of precision, each of my students will need access to Chromebook mice and mousepads to allow for effective opportunities to practice and develop these skills without any obstacles stemming from technology. In addition to teacher instruction, my students will use visual tutorials to help them with their daily independent practice as they navigate various STEM technology websites and program. Many of the online STEM skills programs (such as TinkerCAD) require precision when utilizing Chromebook tools (use of a Chromebook-compatible mouse and a mousepad are essential here due to tool/feature sensitivity). These items would help me ensure that my STEAM students have full access to the technology and equipment they need in order to truly be able to master some essential 21st century STEM skills at precise and productive level.
