I am requesting a variety of books at my students' levels. The school district has adopted curriculum that is too difficult for my beginning English learners to understand. I have found a curriculum that still reaches third grade standards but it is hands on and fun. Each student works in their independent and interactive reading note bookings. The books on this list serve as read aloud book studies where students work on grammar, comprehension, text styles, and writing projects. My students love to sit and listen to students and then on top of that, they love reading each story afterwards to themselves. I am hopeful that these students start loving reading because it is a pleasurable experience instead of a chore.
