Students will use the animation paper to create hand drawn animations which will then be captured digitally to be shared online and in person. Students whose goal is to become an animator, game designer, 3D modeler, etc. need to understand animation theory and what it takes to hand draw animations. In order to create industry-standard animation projects, animation paper is needed, which is specially punched so pages can be aligned on a drawing tablet or light table and traced or referenced so animations can be captured digitally. Prior to animating anything, students write scripts and then storyboard each scene. This is typically drawn on index cards which are mounted to foam core and presented to the class for suggestions and critiques.
