Each month different themes are highlighted within the library to spark an interest in reading. The products I have selected will help to promote reading through visuals for bulletin boards and display tables in the library. Highlighting different topics, helps students to discover reading materials that they may not have experienced before. I will be using the items to create monthly display tables and bulletin boards for spooky stories, holiday classics, blind date with a book and getting crafty. I will also be incorporating lighting and plants throughout the displays for extra ambience. In order for my students to be able to relax and read in the library, I will be adding themed throw pillows to the couches for extra comfort. This projects supports library standard 5: The student who is an independent learner is information literate and appreciates literature and other creative expressions of information. By displaying different types of literature, students are able to find books that interest them and add to their personal reading journey.
