In addition to core subjects in my special education classroom we also work on various life skills. These can be social/emotional or more practical skills. For these students independent living skills are essential. One skill we would like to work on is cooking. We need a mini fridge in order to store ingredients such as milk and eggs so we can practice cooking simple meals such as omelets or pancakes in a mug. In addition we will use this mini fridge to store leftover food items from students breakfasts/lunches so that nothing goes to waste. We will use the portable sink to clean our hands and utensils during the cooking process.
