VA: Cr1.HS.2II Plan personal artwork or design choosing from a range of materials and methods of traditional and contemporary artistic practices. This project will create a growing awareness in students of animals that are endangered or threatened. Students will research an endangered species, sketch it in its habitat/environment, then create a sculpture of it in clay. The students will use the pinch method to create their endangered species. They will add texture and details with the ceramic tools. Once the sculptures are bisque fired the students will put the glaze on their endangered species sculptures.
