My classroom provides academic enrichment for students in grades 1-4, focused on offering individualized support based on students' learning needs. Part of that support is providing small group lessons that address student learning gaps. Right now I have an open area of floor where I can meet with small groups. The rug will help define that space as a learning area and give the students a place to sit comfortably and focus on their work. Sitting together in a circle will allow students to collaborate with peers and allow me, as an instructor, to interact easily with each individual student.
