My project addresses the speaking and listening Nevada content standards for grade levels K-5 (SL. K.1 and K.4 to SL.5.1 and SL. 5.4). When learning is fun, colorful and engaging it can mask how hard learning new things can be. Learning and practicing speech sounds is very repetitive and the children are more engaged when they are able to have a game, book or hands on activity. During COVID my population of students did not have opportunities to engage with "hands on" activities. Since returning, they are thrilled to be working hard on their goals.
