By awakening their minds when they first arrive in the morning, my students will be more receptive to the lessons they will be taught throughout the day. Using games and pieces such as, BUILDZI and Brain Flakes helps to improve their cognitive abilities. Logic will get you from A to B, imagination will take you everywhere. The materials and supplies I am requesting will be used to differentiate instruction in the classroom and reach a diverse group of learners. In my ELA classroom, some of my students are hands-on learners. They will be able to use these materials to create visual representations of what we are learning. Different colored Lego bricks can represent different parts of speech. Students would create a stack of Legos, and then replace each block with the corresponding part of speech to form a sentence. Having a visual model will help deepen their understanding of the concept and strengthen their writing skills.
