The materials that I have selected will be used to deepen our passion for reading in the classroom. As a first year teacher, my book supply and resources is quite low. I want to be able to give my students books that make them excited to read, and these resources will help me with that goal. For example, many students are interested in reading the Magic Tree House books. Having this set available in the classroom to read with students will make them feel so excited to read. The Fire Tablets will allow students to play phonics games, read, and so much more using technology. After doing school from home, many students are used to using technology in the classroom or for learning. Having these available will make students feel comfortable and make reading games more fun! Second grade is a year where students either grow tremendously in reading or fall behind. I want each of my students to leave second grade with a new love for reading and ready to succeed in third grade.
