The cushions will go toward helping students get rid of the extra energy through seating options that will help them focus on reading. The variety of books will extend their imaginations and support their interests. Students have to sit in chairs all day; flexible seating gives them a chance to move freely, feel more connected to their peers, and feel comfortable in their environment. When students can make a space feel more their own, they feel safer and learning becomes easier. I look forward to listening to students share ideas about what they are reading while sitting comfortably together in groups.

About my class
