These informational texts will allow my students to understand the social studies curriculum with texts at their level. It will also allow me to use these texts in a small group, guided reading, and whole-class instruction. These books will help my students with reading fluency, comprehending information, vocabulary, and written expression. My students have diverse learning needs and these books also include illustrations, bold fonts, comprehension questions, and short sections. This leveled information included in these texts will help my students who struggle with understanding and processing informational texts. These texts relate to many of the standards for reading, social studies, and writing as we will be not only reading the texts but completing extension activities to further learning and understanding.
