During their time here, we utilize a wellness room for those students who are struggling with emotions and behaviors. This room should be tranquil, inviting and calming. We need materials and items to dress up the room and create that calming environment. We de-escalate students and return them to their learning environment instead of suspending them for emotional outbursts on campus. Our students eventually get transitioned back to comprehensive campuses where they have to control such outbursts. We are training them to be successful in such environments without judging them.

About my class
