Students who know their math facts become more efficient at solving math problems. Students who can compose and decompose numbers using mental math develop a lifelong skill. Card and board games are a wonderful way to practice skills and reduce screen time. Many practice opportunities are online playing solo. Card and board games are interactive with human contact with social conversation. These classic games are also a wonderful way to foster intergenerational interaction through play. In our community, there are groups who gather to play cribbage. These social interactions benefit the students and adults mentors. Thank you for considering this project.
