One of the greatest benefits of returning to school has been for the children to have access to real books and a classroom library instead of reading from a screen all day. Likewise, the students love reading kid-friendly magazines. This project will provide access for them to read interesting stories and expose them to current events. Having access to a shared resource will open up opportunities for students to have discussions. These subscriptions will allow the students to take home magazines they can call their own. The Storyworks magazine will allow all of the students to read the same stories even though their reading levels may vary. They will not feel limited to only reading books at 'their level'. The Time For Kids magazines will provide access and exposure to current events for our civics lessons and open the door for many classroom discussion opportunities.
