For Middle School students who require reading intervention, reading is the last thing they want to do. Scholastic Action opens a world of reading enjoyment and success to reluctant readers. I hope to capture their attention with high-interest, multi-genre stories featuring real, diverse teens and current, kid-friendly topics. Finding engaging and relatable reading material for students who dislike reading can be incredibly challenging. Magazines are a wonderful supplement to classroom instruction. Students are exposed to a wide variety of texts and lots of interactive content. Literary magazines are full of content that supports growing readers in their literacy development and inspires their love of reading. High interest, nonfiction articles found in magazines are great resources for teaching text and graphic features.
